PANews 4月15日消息，美国风险投资家、亿万富翁Tim Draper在X平台发文回顾其比特币投资经历，他最初计划以4美元价格购买比特币，但矿机供应商Butterfly Labs将本应交付的芯片用于自挖矿，待Peter Viscenne收到芯片时比特币已涨至30美元以上。后续通过Mt.Gox持有的比特币也因该平台“丢失”资金而全部损失。Draper注意到比特币在Mt.Gox事件后价格未大幅下跌，经研究发现比特币正被用于汇款、向无银行账户员工发放工资及创造新兴经济，因此在美国法警署拍卖中以632美元（高于市价）买入全部九个批次的比特币。2014年，他在福布斯商业频道预测比特币三年内将达1万美元，三年后同日该预测兑现。Draper表示，此后其预测未再灵验，但有理由相信比特币将在18个月内达到25万美元，且最终随着比特币升值、美元因通胀压力下跌，该数字还会更高。
